Ram Janmabhoomi Trust invites applications for Ram Mandir CEO post

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has invited applications for the post of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya. The appointment is considered an important step in strengthening the administration and day-to-day management of one of India's most significant religious institutions.

The Trust has issued an official notification inviting eligible candidates to apply for the position. According to the notification, the selected candidate will initially be appointed on a contractual basis for three years. The tenure may be extended further depending on the candidate's performance and the Trust's requirements.

The CEO will be based in Ayodhya and will be responsible for overseeing the temple's administration, operations and overall management. The salary and other benefits will be decided through mutual discussions with the selected candidate.

The recruitment comes at a time when the temple administration is under public attention due to an ongoing investigation into the alleged mishandling of donation funds. However, the Trust has not officially linked the recruitment process with the investigation.

Eligibility and responsibilities

The Trust has laid down detailed eligibility criteria for candidates interested in the post. Applicants must hold at least a graduate degree and should be between 50 and 70 years of age.

Candidates are also required to have a minimum of 20 years of managerial experience in a large public organisation, institution, government department or company. The Trust is looking for individuals with experience in administration, finance, legal affairs, human resources, information technology, security management and policy coordination.

Preference will be given to applicants who have previously worked as a Chief Administrative Officer or have experience in managing a temple or a Hindu religious institution. Such experience is considered valuable because the CEO will be responsible for handling both administrative and religious institution-related responsibilities.

The notification also states that applicants must be practising followers of the Hindu faith. Being a devotee of Lord Ram has been listed as a desirable qualification for the role.

Candidates must also have a good command of both Hindi and English, as proficiency in both languages is mandatory for effective communication and administration.

The selected CEO will report directly to the General Secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. The position is expected to play a key role in ensuring smooth functioning of the temple's administrative, financial and operational activities.

Interested candidates have been asked to submit their applications through email. The last date for sending applications is July 18, 2026, at 4:00 PM. Applications must be emailed to the address provided by the Trust in its official notification.

Recruitment amid ongoing investigation

The recruitment process has attracted attention because it comes while a Special Investigation Team (SIT) is probing allegations related to the handling of donations made to the Ram Temple.

According to reports, the investigation concerns the alleged misappropriation or mishandling of temple donation funds. So far, eight people have been arrested in connection with the case, and the investigation is continuing.

Authorities are examining the movement of donated funds and gathering evidence to determine whether any financial irregularities took place. The SIT has not yet announced its final findings, and the investigation remains ongoing.

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir is one of the country's most important religious sites and receives a large number of devotees and donations from across India and abroad. As a result, efficient administration and financial transparency are considered essential for the smooth functioning of the temple.

The appointment of a Chief Executive Officer is expected to strengthen the temple's administrative structure by ensuring better coordination between different departments, improving operational efficiency and overseeing the implementation of policies approved by the Trust.

The CEO will also be responsible for managing various aspects of temple administration, including personnel management, financial oversight, legal matters, security arrangements and coordination of daily activities. Given the scale of the temple's operations and the large number of visitors it receives, the position carries significant responsibility.

Although the recruitment coincides with the ongoing SIT probe, the Trust has presented the appointment as an administrative requirement aimed at improving governance and ensuring professional management of the temple's affairs.

With applications now open, the Trust is expected to select a candidate who possesses extensive administrative experience, leadership skills and a strong understanding of managing large institutions. The successful applicant will play an important role in overseeing the operations of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir and supporting its continued development in the years ahead.
